Not sure is this should be regarded as a general Finale problem or Playback.
The attached doc indicates the desired sequence. I can't stop the return after D.S. from going to 2nd-ending, so 3rd-ending is never seen. It is as if 2nd-ending forgets that it has been used.
Secondarily, my desperate "Go to measure 7" is awkward. Is there an invisible way to direct 2nd to m7 ?
3rd ending Fine trouble

Thank you, zuill, that's it. I guess the absence of a repeat sign at the end of 1st-ending leaves it wondering what to do next time around.

That might be right. I made 2 changes in the file, but only one actually needed to be done. I'm glad we figured it out. Nothing to do with playback, but I think a double barline at the end of the 2nd ending might be a good option as far as the look. Also, a more traditional look for the last measure (bar 15) would be a double barline, not a final barline.

That was a good puzzle, the other change you made. In my desperation before, I fiddled with that too -- the Go To Measure def -- and as I recall they weren't the same, but that was because the infinite-repetition problem wasn't solved.
Re the barline choices, I generally make them in the traditional ways, but I dashed this doc off focusing on the immediate problem. OTOH, one use my pieces are for is play-alongs on Zoom, where folks get only one chance, so I mark to minimize losing place. Even so far as using the more-visible repeat marks and writing RPT in big letters sometimes.
Thanks again -- a lot of frustration resolved, and a couple of pieces with their 1st strains written out a 2nd time can be shortened.
