Working on a simple exercise for an assignment. 3-staff part, flute and piano. All's well until I put any notes in the LH piano, then it starts normally but then just starts playing back faster. Doesn't matter the note value in LH: dotted 16th, whole notes, same thing. I've tried closing out, coming back, tried select all - clear midi data, no luck. I can't wait to find out what this one's about.....haven't a clue.

It seems to revert to the manual playback setting after a couple of beats. If I set Human Playback Style to None the problem goes away. Can't say what's wrong with the Human Playback settings, if anything. I don't use it.

I made a new file, copied your notes into it, and made a new tempo mark, and it plays back OK with HP = Standard. So I'm not sure what was wrong with your original.

Thanks for doing this Motet.....however if I paste the "fixed" part into the full document, it goes right back to the same thing. I've done little experiments: leave first bar LH blank, seems to work, then speed up in the 3rd bar......always some glitch. Weird, never have this problem ever; must be the new doc I created for this assignment, but I've created many others without issue. As you pointed out, it's apparently an issue with HP; I tried a bunch of different HP settings, same caca with all of them, but when HP is shut off, the problem disappears. I think I'll just shut off HP for this little assignment, totally unneeded -- and assume it's a rare glitch that I normally don't need to deal with. And report it to MakeMusic, I guess.

All I did was just copy and paste the bars from "fixed" into the assignment. Of course I played your fixed version and it was just fine as is. When I pasted it into the existing assignment, it reverted to form, speeding up.

I'm sure you are correct. Obviously I did not want to rewrite the entire thing from scratch, and since this is just an assignment, not any of the serious pieces I'm working on, with a solution as simple as just shutting off HP for this, that's the best way to go. If I have time later on I will try to copy everything into a brand new document and maybe that works as well,
