Green playback scroll bar constantly behind (Finale 27)

Dear Esteemed Finale Gurus,
I recently upgraded to Finale 27 (why, I'm not immediately sure, but continue onward). When I space-click to play a region, the green bar starts falling behind the tempo. Meaning, by the time I hear beat 4 in a measure, the green bar has barely reached beat 3, etc.
I've already reset human playback settings in case that mattered, but no dice. Clicking play through the play button does not seem to share the issue. Only when space-clicking.
