Finale Version 26.3.1.643
Mac OS Big Sur 11.2
2.9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
All of the sudden, I am unable to playback finale. When I go to "MIDI/AUDIO", scroll down to "Device Setup", click on "Audio Setup", there are NO options for Mic Source or Output Source. This has never been a problem for me. I haven't updated in several months, so it's weird that all of the sudden it can't find an output. When I try and click on them to change it, there are no options, no response.
Even the playback won't respond. When I hit spacebar, the play button turns gray but does nothing.

No criticism of you, Mike, but I worry that a lot of users won't know what "trash the preferences" means when told to try that. Could there maybe be a sticky topic, perhaps pointing to the detailed instructions that MakeMusic provides? Perhaps a good title could be what thet entitle it, "Resetting Finale's preferences (using a tool crashes Finale, etc.)"

That’s a good point. I’m remembering what they used to call it, back in the day, when you would drag the preferences file to the Trash.
I’ll try to do better!

Thank you all for your replies. They were very helpful in trying a few things. I had already restarted the program and my computer several times, but to no avail. What ultimately solved it for me was selecting "Reset Rewire" under "Device Setup". By selecting this, it required a restart of the program. After that was done, everything played and worked as it should! This was interesting because I had not used rewire in quite some time.
Thanks again for your time and effort to help.
