First ending plays twice instead of skip to second ending .

Attach a (small) Finale sample document here, then we can examine it, and find out what is going on.

To examine the repeat playback we do not need a document containing notes (music).
A document with empty measures will do just fine.

Did you create the endings with the "Create First and Second Endings" in the Repeat section of the Selection tool Context menu?
