Contrabass flute will not hold out a note all the way

Score has been fine, all of a sudden CB flute will not hold out a climactic note. Tried everything: copy-pasting from previous version, turning off HP, adding exaggerating dynamics/tenuto/etc., no difference. Even tried substituting CB bassoon, bary sax....no dice. CB will play the half as basically a quarter, drop out, then play the eighth note. Any ideas? I'm sure there's some obvious thing wrong I'm doing....or Finale is punishing me for being too productive and is throwing in another stupid glitch to waste a couple hours.

Finale is more Realistic than I realised!
I imagine sustaining on C.B. Flute would be difficult indeed!

I agree, however, I realize the problem was I had an articulation somewhere in the bar I hadn't noticed it, and as soon as I removed it it was fine. Egg on the face, but it's okay.
