How to play a *.MID file without Garritan or SoftSynth

Can we get Finale to play its stock drum grooves (*.MID files) with the rich sound that they have when played with a media player? When I play back one in Finale, I am limited to Garritan's Fusion drum set or SmartMusic's Standard kit, neither of which sound as rich as when played with Windows Media Player or MPC. If a third party VST drum kit plug-in is required, maybe someone can recommend one for rock music. I have a 32-bit plug-in that simulates the awesome Linn drum machine, but it is incompatible with my x64 version of Finale.
