In the attached sample, I have a harmony line in layer 2, which plays back properly...until I add a slur to indicate legato. The slur does not affect the first note in layer 2, but the next three notes become silent. Deleting the slur restores playback of all the notes.

I thought of deleting the slur and adding an artificial one with the Custom Line tool; but I cannot find a curved line font. Has anybody run into this issue and found a solution?

Looks like another HP bug. Rather than using a custom line, attaching the slur to the layer 2 notes works (file attached). It's a little tricky--the slur will point down, but you can flip it and drag the endpoints. But in dragging the endpoints, make sure it doesn't reattach itself to the top layer; it will highlight which note it's attached to when you drag.

Or, you can use legato lines.

MakeMusic offered the following solution, which to me confirms that the engineers there might be smoking too much weed.

To add a slur to notation in layer 1--without silencing all but the first note of the harmony line in layer 2-- do not add a slur to layer 1 but add one to layer 2, and then flip it and drag it up above the notation in layer 1, after which add a duplicate slur for notation in layer 2. This works but is completely illogical.

I suggested that MakeMusic ignore its marketing staff and fix such bugs before focusing on adding new features.

Well, they gave you a work-around that works. I suggested the exact same thing in the previous post. You're right that they should fix bugs, though.

Yes, you did offer the same workaround. Evidently the neurons in my prefrontal cortex were not firing as I focused on the macrons. Sorry.
