Is it possible to remove glissando from Violins?

I like the sound of Garritan's "Violins KS" for my waltz, but would like to have the playback of 1/8th notes without the automatic slide. If I set Porta (CC20) and "Length (CC21)" to 0% in ARIA Player, I get what sounds like a mistake. Adding staccato marks does not help. Attached is an example. Is there a workaround?
