It does not matter too much, one can always imagine it, but I find it very odd that GPO5 has col legno in the violin solo, but not in the viola and cello solo, and on the other end all string section allow col legno. Really, what is the logic of that?

There are loads of inconsistencies throughout GPO5. The Orchestral Strings KS instruments don't all have the same techniques, and even the techniques they share are on different key switches needlessly.

In the years since GPO5's release (2016), not even the obvious bugs in the SFZ files have been fixed. MakeMusic could have used the assets in Garritan's sound archive to create a new product for notation software. But that opportunity has been squandered.

New technologies for audio in notation software are coming through -- MuseScore 4 has just been released with innovative new rendering; and NotePerformer 4 is expected to be a radical improvement.
