Preface:
* Up until this week, all worked fine.
* Now, this is happening across all of my scores.

Any tempo I set using expressions or adjusting the playback controller are all much faster than expected.

Here is an example:
* Created a new score using setup wizard
* Added 4 parts (all trombones - but doesn't matter what instruments)
* Used default tempo from wizard of 1/4 == 120bpm
* Edited score and put in a scale to play over an over until the end of the 32 bars.

Result:
When I play it back (not having adjusted anything) it plays at over 165bpm

I've exported the MusicXML called Bogus.xml and can send it to anyone who wants to have a look. The MusicXML provided is about as simple of an example as I can provide.

I lost a full day yesterday trying to remedy this and am at a loss. Wondering if issue is with a recent update of Finale (though not sure that is it).

Would a re-install of Finale maybe solve the issue?

Please, anybody help?

Right-click on the tempo marking and go to the Playback tab. It should specify the tempo as shown below ("Match playback to metronome marking text" should work, too). This will override any setting in the playback controls. If that looks OK, then go to the Selection tool, select all, and pick Clear Selected Items from the Edit menu. Click None and then MIDI Data as shown below. If neither of these fix it, then attach your .musx file here.

Right-Click did not open that dialog. I'm on a Mac and looks like you are on Windows maybe? Anyway, attaching the file below.

BTW: I did re-install Finale and no change.

Thanks!

Your piece plays back at 120 for me. Maybe experiment with playback options. Set Human Playback Style to None and see if that provides a clue. Set "Dynamics and markings" to "Chase from First Measure."

Thanks for looking. I ended up taking a shot and went into Human Playback Preferences and selected [Reset All Preferences] and that fixed it.

I'm not sure when or how I modified something in there, but evidently that was the case.
