I am having a big problem after updating NotePerformer to 3.3.2.
It was working fine before that. Now it is broken, and I can't fix it.

I have:
  • Uninstalled and Reinstalled Noteperformer
  • Uninstalled and Reinstalled Finale and then reinstalled Noteperformer
  • Copied the Noteperfomer.soundmaps file to just about every directory I find having to do with MakeMusic, Finale and NotePerformer.
  • Installed NotePerformer to different directories
Every time I do any of these or combinations of these, I get the same results:
  • NotePerformer appears under Sound Map Priority (at the top of the list where I use it)
  • Under VST Banks & Effects, it is a no-show and I get a message: "Missing VST instrument Plug-in: Noteperformer
  • Under Score Manager, each instrument's Device setting says: NotePerformer (missing) and Sound column is blank.
I am on
  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor, 3801 MHz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
  • Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 64.0 GB
  • GPU Adapter Description: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
  • Sound Device: PreSonus Studio 26c

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. I've written customer support, but I've received no response yet, but in their defense, it's only been a couple of days so far.

Got the solution from Wallander Instruments.

They asked if I had an AMD graphics card, which I do.
They suggested this fix/hack and it worked!
---------------------------------------------------------
If that's the case, we have a temporary fix for this by creating a
.txt document and naming it exactly as I pasted below.

np_use_software_rendering.txt

And place it directly on the C:\ drive

There is a hack in NP that will ask it to use the Windows fallback
OpenGL software renderer if you have that file present.

Then you can try starting Finale with NotePerformer, and then you can
rescan your plugins in Finale.

MIDI/Audio > Device Setup > Rescan for VST Plug-ins

---------------------------------------------------------

This is an empty text file saved under the exact name they provided.

I hope this helps someone else in the future!
