midi export - chords and melody separately

Hi-

when i export my finale file as a midi file, (even when i select "to separate tracks") the midi file has both melody and chords in one file-

anybody know the remedy for this?

Make sure that each staff uses a different midi channel. Otherwise all the staves sharing the same midi channel will be merged when you export them as a midi file.
PS : in one single staff, you can use different midi channels for different layers, and for chords.
