Have an iMac and MacBook - both on current version of Ventura.

On the iMac, when I plug in headphones to the audio out jack, Finale27 automatically switches to Headphones as the output.

On the MacBook, Finale27 continues to play through the internal speakers. I can manually switch to Headphones in Audio Device Setup, but if I forget to switch back to Internal Speakers before unplugging the headphones, Finale crashes. Is there any way to have Finale27 automatically switch to Headphones / Internal Speakers as needed?

The first thing to check is Midi/Audio -> Device Setup -> Audio Setup : Output Source.

I understand where the setting is located. I am asking if it can happen automatically.

Try saving preferences after your output selection is made. (Actually, the preferences should be saved when you quit Finale, but give it a try anyway)...
