Title. The tempo slows down just before the fermata, which is what I want it to do, but it doesn't recover. Even if I put another tempo marker after it, its still slow. I tried using an a tempo mark too, still nothing.
Any ideas?

Try assigning the a tempo a little farther forward. Right-click on the handle in the Expression tool and pick "edit assignment. If it's assigned to beat 1, try assign it to beat 1.1, something like that.
