When I import a file with Finale 2006, be it a midi or a XML file, all staffs get share the same midi channel. All staffs have the sound and the volume of the uppermost staff. Even when I just save it as a MUS file this data will now be hard coded into the MUS file and I can never get rid of it.
If I delete the uppermost staff all staffs get the sound of the channel that then becomes the uppermost staff.
