tap yielding extra notes in hyperscribe

How do I get rid of extra notes showing up both when I use the sustain pedal as a tap and a MIDI key on my keyboard as a tap?

Finale seems to be trying to playback what I am playing as I play it and also notating the "sounds" from my tap in the music.
