I originally posted this on the Beginner's Forum, but haven't yet received a reply; it probably belongs here...
I'm editing a collection of woodwind trios. The first ones were prepared using Finale 2005, but I recently acquired Finale 2008 and finished editing the other works with the newer version of the program. I have obviously had to 'convert' the older files so that they run normally with Finale 2008.
I've noticed that when I play the older files, there is a big difference in sound quality compared to the more recent files prepared directly with Finale 2008; I don't know exactly what this difference is, but it almost seems that the older files are mono while the later ones are stereo, or something like that. I'd just assumed that the 'conversion' would have standardised all the earlier files, but I don't think it has. Any ideas?
