Is there a way to disable Finale's playback feature that attempts to use dynamics placed in the score? It often results in some voices staying soft after the dynamic has changed and vise versa. When I am using the playback feature to catch typo’s, just a clean playback following the score would be most helpful.

Windows Menu
Instrument list
To the left of the staff names, there is an arrow; click on it to see more details.
Uncheck the "Expressions" for each staff.

Expressions will be ignored during playback : dynamic markings, etc...Be aware that other expressions which can be programmed to have an effect on playback will also become ineffective during playback (patch changes, etc...)

Another solution, if you want to avoid this disandvantage, is to desactivate the playback effect of the text expressions (ff, pp etc).

Expression Tool
click on a note to create a text expression
Select one (f, p, etc..)
Edit
Show playback Options
Playback options : replace "Key velocities" by "none"

Repeat the procedure for all similar text expressions (pp, ff etc...)

Create a library for use in other files and templates.
