Hi All,
I'm new to Finale and this forum so I hope I'm providing the right information. I use Songwriter 2010. I've hooked up my Yamaha DGX-220 keyboard to my new Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop (Windows 7) with a USB cable. I've followed the instructions for using the hyper-scribe tool. I get the tapping sound on my computer when I click on the first measure. When I play the keyboard I get the sound of the notes (on the keyboard, not the laptop) but no notes are transcribed into Songwriter. I noticed that in the midi setup box under "Midi In" midi synch is checked but under "device" there is "none". Midi Thru is checked too.
I've downloaded the latest drivers for the keyboard. Can anyone give me some ideas about how I can get the hyper-scribe tool to work?
Thanks!
Mike

Your keyboard has to be selected in the MIDI device IN window. Make sure the cables are correct. Try turning on the keyboard after SongWriter. If that doesn't work, try the reverse. If that doesn't work, contact tech support.
