I am having trouble composing a piece for orchestra and choir. When I play through VST, the sound is fuzzy and it seems as though the computer lags - it can't "keep up" with the music. Could this be because I have too many instruments? Here is the instrumentation:

Flutes
Oboe
Clar. 1
Clar. 2
Clar. 3
Bsn. 1
Bsn. 2
Contrabsn.
Horn 1
Horn 2
Trumpets
Trombones
Tuba
Percussion
Timpani
Harp
Electric Guitar
Tenor Solo
Soprano
Alto
Tenor
Bass
Violin 1
Violin 2
Viola
Cello
Doublebass

What can I do to hear this successfully, and with the musicality of Garritan? I do have some instruments sounding from SmartSynth (guitar). Also, this is with Finale 2008 on a Compaq Presario laptop.

Thanks!

How much RAM does your computer have? I suspect that you would need 4 GB RAM to push this!
