Saved Finale audio file won't play back.

I'm using Finale 2008 for Mac, and I created a file of a single-line etude so I could create a click track for it, for practicing purposes. When I play the file back in Finale, everything works fine, but when I try to save it as an audio file (I've tried .aiff and .wav, the only two options I see) and try to play it back, it plays for about 2 seconds, and then sustains whatever sound it's on for the rest of the duration of the recording. What the heck is going on?
