New to finale and was wondering if it is possible to save files created in finale notepad 2005 in etf format.

Thanks

NotePad can't, but Finale can:

File menu > Save As...

In the dialog box Save As, go to the pop up menu Format, and select ENIGMA Transportable File.

However, the ETF format seems obsolete today, since there is MusicXML and the Dolet Plug-In.

ETF files are a thing of the past. Finale 2005 and Notepad 2005 simply save as compatible files for both Windows and Macs. Period.

As it should be.... 8)

Agreed, except for one case in which etf is the (more or less reliable) solution (not Dolet Music XML) : exporting from Finale to Sibelius...(Sibelius does NOT import Music XML, as surprising as it may seem).
