Text tool

I just upgraded to Finale 2012 on a Mac running OS 10.8.2, and the text tool doesn't work. Is this a mouse issue or a Finale issue? I try to double click and no text box appears. I can edit an existing text block but can't create a new one.

I'm running the same system, with no problems.
Having said that, do the articulation, expression, and smart shapes work correctly?
Have you restarted the computer?
