So, I decided to take advantage of the recent upgrade discount for Finale 2012. Installed it on my Mac, seemed to be going smoothly... But every time I try opening it, I get the dreaded pinwheel. It doesn't even get to the 'setup' menu. However, if I open a finale file straight from it's folder in finder (without opening Finale first) then it opens and runs just fine.

Any tips? I'm going to contact tech support as well, but I found this forum first, so I thought I'd see if anyone else has had this issue.

I upgraded from Finale Allegro, and I'm currently running it on Mac OS 10.5. Perhaps it's simply due to my OS being a bit out of date?

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

The system requirements say that 10.5 is OK. Try it in a new user account. This will at least show you if there is something in your current account that might be conflicting.

Did you have antivirus software running during th download/install? This has been known to cause problems.
