I am unable to create a single percussion staff that utilizes 2 notation styles in Finale 2012c (Windows). I need to use both percussion (for indefinite pitch instruments ) and standard (for keyboard instruments). I can import a score created in Finale 2010 and it transfers just fine, but I cannot add any new pitched passages. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

We might need to see an actual Finale 2012 .mus sample document.

Before you can attach a .mus document in this forum, you must compress it, e. g. as a .zip file.
And the file size must not be more than max. 100 KB.

Without seeing an actual document we can only be guessing.

However, here is a "shot in the dark":
Have you tried the new Finale 2012 utility "Change Instrument"?

The Change instrument utility was what I needed. I was only looking in Define Staff Styles and Score Manager which seem to be the more intuitive locations for making this type of alteration. Thanks for the quick response!
