Crashing when attempting to scan music

Hello,
I've just purchased Finale 2012 for Mac this week and today I tried to use the scan function for the first time. However, the program crashes as soon as the scanning window loads every time I try to open it. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Try setting up a new user account, and see if it works from there. Note: This is just a test, to see if there is a conflict in your primary user account that might be causing it.
