I have removed a virus from my system today and it appears to have changed a few settings within Finale.
Most i've bbeen able to reset but there is one particular issue that is beginning to stress me out a little, which I would appreciate some help with.
Before when I was manually entering notes and I included too many in a single meaasure it would spill pover into the next measure. This was very handy when including phrases with tuplets. Now, whenever I try to do that it doesn't let me and omits an annoying ping.
How do I return the settings to the way it wass previously?
Many thanks,

What tool do you use when you "manually" enter notes?
I suspect that you should look in the options for the entry tool you use.

That's it - thanks once again.
Whilst I'm here, how do you reduce note head size for just one measure in one stave? I have about 60 32nd notes with accidental a in a single measure that I can't get to squeeze on just one system. Thanks

To change the size of an individual notehead, use Special Tools Tool's sub-tool Note Shape Tool.
Click inside the measure/staff to make handles appear on the noteheads.
Context-click on a notehead handle.
In the context menu, choose "Edit…".
You get to the dialog box Notehead Settings where you can edit the notehead.
To change the size of all the noteheads in a measure (or in a region), use a staff style to change the notehead font's Point size.
An example:
The default size for a notehead font is 24 Points.
By changing the font size to 12 Points you reduce the notehead size by 50 %.

Staff menu > Define Staff Styles…
Create a new staff style, and name it (you could e. g. call it "Small Noteheads").
Define the staff style to change the Notehead Font (and nothing else).
Apply your new staff style to the region where you want smaller noteheads.
And don't worry:
The staff style will only resize the noteheads.
Everything else - accidentals, stems, beams &c. - will remain "un-resized".

Are you sure you want to resize only the noteheads and the accidentals?
Wouldn't it be better to resize the notes?
If you resize the notes, you automatically resize everything:
noteheads, accidentals, stems, beams - and everything attached to the notes, like e. g. articulations.
I could be wrong here, but I think that it would look better with everything resized proportionally.
Anyway, if you insist on resizing only the accidentals, use the Special Tools Tool.
Click the sub-tool Accidental Mover Tool.
Click inside the measure/staff, to make handles appear on the accidentals.
Double-click an accidental handle to open the dialog box Accidental Settings.
When you have resized an entire measure of accidentals, you can use the Edit Filter to copy only the "Notehead, Accidental and Tablature String Alterations" to the other measures.
