Finale 2014 crashes when opening

Greetings!
I just downloaded the newest version of finale (I know, I should have waited!). It won't open. Crashes after about the third bounce in the dock. Reopen, bam, same thing.
Restarted machine, same thing. I'm awaiting a response from support.

This is on a macbook pro, running 10.8.5, 2.53 GHZ intel Core 2 duo, 4gb RAM

Has anyone else been foolish enough to purchase this on the second day (or third?) and have the same result.

I don't know that I would consider it foolish. Many people seem to be running It with no problems at all. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I am also experiencing a freeze on opening. I am working with tech support to try to find the conflict.
