The instrument tones are changing?

Hey, I started making some music but decided I wanted to change which instruments were in the piece. Found out you can't change them during writing so I decided to copy and paste them into a different file. I'm copying the same instruments to eachother, for example I copied the Viola section, to the Viola in the new file but they sound different. The tone sounds like it has a lot of reverb and almost as if it's an octave higher. Any help? Pretty new to this program but am enjoying it quite a lot.
