Respacing Staves in only 1 system—Finale 2014, Mac

Hello,

I would like to increase the space in between the viola and violin staves only in one system, not globally. Is this possible, and if yes, how?
Thank you as usual,
Julian

Yes, this is possible.

Here is what I would do:

1) Staff Tool.
In the Staff menu, make sure that “Show Staff Spacing While Dragging” is selected.

2) In the system, in one measure only, select the staves you want to move down:
Click inside the highest staff (viola) you want to move, to select the staff in that system only (= only one measure is highlighted).
Go down to the bottom staff, and shift-click it.

3) Hold down Option*) while dragging down the staff-handle on one of the selected staves.
While you are dragging, Finale will display the current staff spacing - in the Measurement Units you have chosen to use for Finale (I would use small units, like Points or EVPUs).
Stop dragging when Finale displays the amount of staff spacing you need.

*) In case any Windows Finale users are reading this:
The corresponding modifier key in Windows Finale is Ctrl (I think).
If the Ctrl key does not work, try the Alt key.
