Hello again,
Still can't get Hyperscribe to work on Finale 2009 so I thought I would try playing a midi file into Reason or Cubase. So I did!!!!
Trouble is when I import the midi file into Finale 2009 it won't play back at all. The notation imports and can be seen but there is no sound during playback.
The midi/audio device is set up fine because I can play things in Finale and the sound comes through no problem.
I've checked everywhere in the instrument set up and feel that I must be missing something because I can't for the life of me get a midi file that is imported into Finale 2009 to play back.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks again.

You are using the Windows version of Finale 2009, right?
You might get more help if you also ask your question in the Windows forum on MakeMusic’s web site.
Some of the users there have a lot of experience with MIDI file import.
You can also attach a MIDI file here.
I am not sure whether this forum accepts .mid files.
But it accepts compressed files, e. g. .zip files - so you can just compress your .mid file.
And the file size must not be more than max. 100 KB (but it probably is not that big - MIDI files are usually quite small).
