Windows 7 Can't Read Finale 2014 Files (.musx, etc.)

My Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognize files created by Finale 2014. This includes both Finale files (.musx) and Finale-created export files, such as PDFs. I can work inside Finale 2014, see all files of all types when I click on Open, modify and print files, etc. Windows 7, however, doesn't even see the files, making it impossible for me to attach them to email or do anything with them whenever my Finale software isn't open.
I have upgraded many times since I first started using Finale in 1999 and have never encountered this sort of problem before when going from an older to newer version. Any thoughts or guidance on how to fix this will be greatly appreciated.
