I'm not sure how this happened. I just created a new file from the Template folder (File/New/Document from Template/) and everything went fine. Saved as file then went back to create another new file the same way but now there are no templates in the folder. It goes directly to the folder where I saved the last file using save-AS. How can I recover the templates that were in the folder originally? Is there a way to download them?

Thanks,
Mark

You are telling that when you the first time went to
File menu > New > Document from Template…
Finale opened a directory dialog box with the Templates folder, right?

But the next time you went to
File menu > New > Document from Template…
Finale instead opened a directory dialog box with another folder, namely the folder where you saved the last document (which is not the same folder as the Templates folder), right?

My guess is that the Templates folder still exists on the drive.
Try again going to
File menu > New > Document from Template…
Chances are that Finale this (third) time will go to the Templates folder.

If you still do not get the Templates folder, then it is time to check whether the folder is where it is supposed to be.
From the Finale 2014 folder the path is this:
Finale 2014/Music Files/Templates

If the templates folder really is gone, copy it over from the “backup”:
At the root level of the drive (not in your user account) you will see another, identically named
folder hierarchy:
Finale 2014/Music Files/Templates

Thanks Peter. I found it and made sure there are both copies - root and user.
