Hello,
I have Finale 2014 and can not find a way into the Playback Settings Dialogue.
There is *no* button on the Playback Toolbar for me even though all of the support material says there should be.
Anyone know another way into that dialogue or why I wouldn't have one?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Cloe

…And if you are using the Windows version, then I think that you should click the “loudspeaker” icon.

Welcome to the forum.
(I use Mac, so I'm not sure about Windows, but...)
It may be that the bar is partially collapsed. Can you drag the bar from the lower right corner to expand it?
Does your bar look like this?
If it does, the loudspeaker icon on the right is what you want.

The bar does not have a loudspeaker button. There is no way to expand it further: I've pulled it off of the edge of the UI, so that it's a small "window" but I can't change the size of the window to reveal any more hypothetically existent buttons.
It seems that the button used for "settings" just simply does not exist on my UI.
*edit* Just tried reinstalling the software and still no Playback Settings Button.

In that case, you should contact tech support.
(Are you sure that you have the full Finale program, and not PrintMusic? Only Finale has that option.)

Ah that must be the problem. I only have PrintMusic. So I guess those options aren't available.
Thanks for the help Miker.
Is there another way maybe to make it not add three seconds of silence to the end of every export. Everything we could find suggested using those options to fix it.
Thanks again for the prompt help I appreciate it.

I do not know whether PrintMusic can export without adding those “three seconds of silence to the end”, but here is another idea:sashimi wrote:…Is there another way maybe to make it not add three seconds of silence to the end of every export…
Edit the exported audio file in Audacity, and remove the “three seconds of silence” there.

Audacity will be your best option, like Peter says. You can't do anything in PM.
Please change your program to PrintMusic, in the User settings. Thanks!
