Problem with courtesy accidentals:
Because of differences in page layout, courtesy accidentals appearing in the score won't appear in the same measures as in parts - linked parts, in this case. I want to be able to place courtesy accidentals when and where I want without having this automatic connection between score and parts. I don't like the idea of having to display them individually as expressions. It screws up the measure layout. Is this possible? I used to extract parts, recently went to linked parts, but I'm tempted to go back to extraction.

Indeed cautionary accidentals are always linked between score and (linked) parts.
However, since you “recently went to linked parts”, here is an idea for you:
Instead of going “back to extraction”, consider using two copies of the Finale document:
One copy for the score, and another copy for the linked parts.
Having all the parts in one document can be convenient, and also a time saver.
