Finale Version 2014.5, on Mac os x

Hi

For a long time I had this issue when I try to create a tuplet. It seems to have some logical problem as the last note of the tuplet always not completely insertable(lacks always super tiny of rhythm  ). And seems to be random, chance go bigger as tuplet more complicated.

And I would ask is there anyone also met this problem? Somehow can be solved?

Best Regards
Yang

Welcome to the Forum.

What exactly is the tuplet that you are trying to enter? For example, is it 5 sixteenths in the space of 4 sixteenths? Is it a mixed tuplet, that is eighths and quarters? Where are you having the problem? On the last beat, or anywhere in the measure?

The more exactly you can describe it, the better we can help.

Hello miker

Thanks for reply. Yes I found that as you said this problem always happens at the last beat of the measure. And about the type of the tuplet I would say I can't find any regular pattern. Just any kind of tuplet can have this problem. Whether it's solidarity or mixed.

As I can't attach a musx file here, I've uploaded an example to my google drive, link is here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By9vhY ... sp=sharing
At the first line it's 3 sixteenths in the space of 2 sixteenths.
second line 5 eighteenths in the space of 4
third line 5 sixteenths in the space of 4.

Really hope I can make this issue goes well
Thanks!
Yang

Yang,
The problem with tuplets on the last beat is usually solved by one of two methods. The first is to uncheck "Check for extra notes" in the Simple Entry options, which lets you overfill the measure before applying the tuplet tool.

The second, (which I find is better,) is to enter the first note, define the tuplet, and enter the remaining notes. So, in the first example, I entered a sixteenth note, tapped opt-9 to go into the tuplet definition frame, and entered 3-current in the space of 2-current. OK returns you to the score, with the first note and 2 rests, under the tuplet bracket. Just enter the last two notes. I did the same thing with the third example, but I entered 5 in the space of 4.
(I couldn't open your link, so I don't know what you meant by "eighteenths.")
