When I open Finale, the sound of my laptop goes away and causes errors in playing videos from Youtube. It sometimes lead to causing my screen to just turn black. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems to this, or has any solutions? Thanks!

You might want to try running Finale without ASIO.

There seems to be no option except to use ASIO. Though, it seems most instruments are working except the percussion sounds.

What version of Windows and what version of Finale? Have things been working fine and then suddenly stopped working properly today?

I have windows 8 and Finale 25.5, and I just recently downloaded and started using and the percussion sounds never worked.

Well, I can't say how I can choose not to use ASIO. It might depend on your sound card. Is it an add-on or built in?

As far as percussion, there can be different scenarios I can think of. If you could make a short demo of a percussion document, we could probably find why it is not working. It just might be that it is very soft. This is a known issue, if you are using Garritan.

The Snare is sounding like a Tenor Drum. That's the only thing I can detect. I revised the file so it plays the Marching Snare (using the RowLoff sounds, which it appears you were trying to do).

I opened the revised file, and I'm still not having any percussion sound come out. Though it seems on your system, there was sound?

Yes. And I reposted the file as I did not complete the conversion.

So, not sure what's up, as it is good for me. Maybe you need to close Finale and delete the finmidi file. When Finale reopens, you reset your midi settings. Maybe that will do it.
