Hey all,

I've actually always had this issue so it's not an update thing but:

I use the Mac trackpad and have it set for light tapping (meaning, I just gently tap and not push hard for a "click."). Anyway, this works with everything except the Smart Shapes which require click and drag, like hairpins and trill lines. I have to double "click" and drag which is pretty difficult on the trackpad. Have to attempt multiple times usually before getting one to appear.

Does this happen to anyone else and have you found a solution?

Thanks!

The only solution I’ve found is to use a mouse. Sorry.

I’ve never really been a fan of trackpads, even on my laptop, so I carry a small mouse when I travel.

What works for me on trackpad (Mac OS):

1. First tap with one finger.
2. Second tap using THREE fingers, which are not released.
3. Then drag with the three fingers.

No need to push hard for a click.

Or you can add smart shapes by selecting a region and execute a script, here's an example for slurs.
