My trusty Canon Pixma MG3120 printer finally stopped working after many years of great reliable service. I researched many brands of new printers and decided to buy an Epson Ecotank et-3850. It failed miserably at printing PDF exports of Finale files. The first print job I sent was 195 pages and it had 27 totally worthless pages (14 percent failure rate, mostly blank staff lines, ties and slurs with gaps, etc.) and numerous other problematic pages with thin staff lines, note heads with white lines through them, etc.

I would appreciate hearing from you if you have recently purchased a printer that works well with Finale PDF export files.

Thanks!

It sounds like more of a pdf creation problem than strictly a printer issue. I use both an HP laser printer and a Brother laser color printer, some 3-4 years old, with zero problems. What I see on my digital pdf is what I get in the printed version.

What are you exporting your finale file to for printing?

Finale's PDF export doesn't work well. Instead, create your PDF by "printing" to the Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer.

Or, use one of the third-party PDF creators, like CutePDF.
