I had to buy a new Roland/Edirol UM ONE midi interface for my (Windows 10) laptop, but now my old tower PC (Windows 7) won't recognize the MIDI input from either the new UM ONE or old UM1-1SX midi interfaces!
Up-to-date drivers are installed, interface lights show activity, MIDI Setup dialogue shows the right devices for In and Out, keyboard successfully transmits pitch (key) info into Cubase, device is 'recognized' in Control Panel/Hardware and Sound, but my trusty Finale 2006 won't recognize pitch info for Speedy Entry from either interface.
Always worked before! Can anyone suggest any thing else I could try?
Regards always

Explore the MIDI/Audio settings, I guess. Sounds like the hardware is working.

Thanks, Motet.
I naturally tried all variations, but I bought the new one for my Windows 10 laptop anyway, and made that one work.
It was about 10 years old, and my Finale's 2006, so I can hardly complain!
It would probably work if I tried again right now. IT!

Make sure that the Speedy Entry menu is configured to use the MIDI device!

If it's working in Cubase, then it's certainly just a Finale settings issue.
