Issue with opening finale 2003 file with 2004

When anyone in my labs open a 2003 file under 2004, finale will slow to a crawl. It will get so bad as to not be able to save...

System
Apple
DP 533
512ram
40+ HD

Any ideas on why?

i'm having the same in one of my computers...

checking file integrity and removing deleted items maybe help.
