"Finale 2008 has encountered a problem and needs to clo

Each time I try to start something up in Finale 2008, it shuts down with an error message:

Finale 2008 for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I can open Finale up. I can open Launch Window or the Setup Wizard. But when I try to open existing music or create a new music file, the error message appears, and I am forced to shut the program down.

I've tried uninstalling and installing several times, but no good results.

Any help? Thank you.
