I have Finale 2010, and when I try to change the meter of a measure from 4/4 to 2/4, the program freaks out and puts part of a giant red letter or something across the page, which is non-removable. What the hell is going on??

Can you post the file, or a screen shot?

Hi. Using Finale 26.1 etc. here in Windows 10, plenty of all memory.

My engraver assistant engraved "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" in 4/4, and it should have been 2/4, with quarter notes that should be eighth notes---like the opening measure for the first violins should be eighth rest, eighth E, eighth rest, eighth F#, etc. What he did was quarter rest, quarter E, quarter rest, quarter F#.

Does anyone know how I can change what he did to 2/4 and fix all the other problems with note durations, plus re-bar the entire work?

I'd be obliged. If you can give me a link or something like that with good instructions, I'd be obliged. I'm NOT a power Finale user, but I try.

Thanks!

Take a look at the plugin JW Meter and Rhythm

Be sure to download the correct 64 bit version for Finale 26.
