automatically generate text

In the guitar bend options in smart shapes there's an option to turn on or turn off "automatically generate text" - I want to turn it off and leave it off but it keeps defaulting back to the on position when I turn off finale - I've tried loading a library, saving special preferences - does anyone know how to turn off "automatically generate text" and have it stay off ? I'm using finale 2003 with a PC - thank you - dan
