Negative Harmony?
I'd like to see a negative harmony option in Canonic Utilities. I can do instant chromatic and diatonic inversions of music there, but no negative harmony. It's a really useful composition tool. Also, a lot of people seem to be jumping up and down about negative harmony all over Youtube because of Jacob Collier, and it's also covered in this book, which mentions Finale with regards to chromatic inversion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCsa9ldlIWU

Re: Negative Harmony?
Finale's Canonic Utilities probably date from the 1990s, so there's no chance they'll be updated.

Re: Negative Harmony?
I would not hold my breath, waiting for a such feature in Finale.
Instead, I would hire a third party developer.

And so, musical creativity is reduced to formulaic button pushing and drum machines. Feh.
Color me not impressed.

Re: Negative Harmony?
I've never heard of negative harmony.
To be fair, Bach did inversion, retrograde, etc., in his compositions. Or, listen to the first movement of Brahms's first symphony, for example.

Inversion, retrograde and inverted retrograde are techniques used already in Renaissance polyphony. Nothing new or fancy there.
