Automatic deactivation of 'tie button'

In most instances when notes are tied there are only two notes tied yet you have to manually click on the 'tie button' once the second note has been entered to prevent further notes being tied. The usability of the software could be improved by automatically deactivating the 'tie button' after the second note is entered. To accommodate more than two notes being tied (eg across multiple bars) the software could be amended so that a double-click of the 'tie button' would keep the 'tie button' active until it is manually deactivated. This would work similar to the way the 'format painter' works in Microsoft products ie a single click for a single use of the function and a double-click for continuous use of the function.

Welcome to the forum. Are you using Simple Entry with the computer keyboard? If you are simply tying one note to the next, there is no need to click on the Tie button. Enter the first note, tap the T key, and enter the second note.

If you're tying notes of equal value, just enter the total note duration as one note: for tied quarter notes, just enter a half note.

Miker,

Thanks for your solution. It's so simple when you know how. :D
