Playback needs better keyboard support, like space for start / stop.
In particular I need to be able to loop single chords or short phrases, and /or click-move the mouse to playback in my own tempo like it works in many sequencers.
Regards, Stephan.

Maybe you should take a look at the help files, what you want is in there.
If (and only if) the playback control window is open, the spacebar starts and pauses the playback.
Loops are not implemented in Finale playback, but if you add repeat signs (and define a number of times), you end up with a loop.
Mouse drag for playback is available, too : hold down spacebar + the option key (Mac / probably ctrl for Windows) and drag the mouse over a region.
(This works in the "full" version of Finale. Please enter some infos on your version and hardware into your signature)
