I would like that Finale would be able to save scores into more types of files. I'm talking about MP3, WMA, AU, PDF, etc.

Although Finale itself doesn't have these options, at least some of them are available through third party software.

To get MP3 files with Finale 2003 or earlier, you can export from Finale as a MIDI file. And from the MIDI file it's possible (with third party software) to create an audio file that (with third party software) can be converted to MP3 format.
Finale 2004 can create audio files that (with third party software) can be converted to MP3 format.

For PDF creation there is free software. You don't tell, whether you are using Windows or Macintosh.

Mac OS X has built-in PDF creation from the Print dialog box.

For PDF creation in Windows there is free software on the web. Try

or

Yeah but how about Melody Assistant and Harmony Assistant? They can export and import lots of file formats including MP3!

Harmony Assistant and Melody Assistant indeed sound like interesting alternatives to Finale.
You didn't post an URL, but here it is:

The problem is that Harmony Assistant and Melody Assistant have lesser power than Finale and are really hard to use.
