Second problem. Same piece as described in my previous post of a few minutes ago,
an uncomplicated piano score.
I'm not hearing playback. To answer the obvious questions:
It was playing back just fine until yesterday, including for the year that it sat as a simple exercise.
It was playing back while I worked on it, adding new music.
Until suddenly it didn't.
I brought up another project to play back, and it plays fine.
I tried playing it on a different computer with a different OS version.
It still doesn't play. Same thing with the other project. Plays fine.
This tells me that I have my sound output set up right and the volume up but that I did something stupid or unknown to me that caused it not to send sound to the output device (different on the two computers).
Therefore, I must have stumbled on something within the score project itself and accidentally threw a switch somewhere.
Can someone suggest where I can look?
Thanks very much for any suggestions.
no sound on playback

Thanks for specifying the steps you’ve already taken (to solve the problem).
Now we can rule out things.
Things you have not tried yet (or at least not told us) - I am “shooting in the dark”:
a) Window menu > ScoreManager > Instrument List
Take a good look at the settings in the Instrument List - and compare to the settings in a Finale document that does play back.
b) MIDI/Audio menu > Reassign Playback sounds
c) MIDI/Audio menu > All Notes Off

This now has been fixed. When I exported the file to an XML and reimported it, the sound now works, and on top of it, the repeats work correctly, which I reported in another post.
Therefore no need to post the score or another example, but thanks for the offer.
